Privacy Policy

Tarka is a desktop app for working with your databases. It is built to keep your data on your machine. This policy explains the little information we do handle and why.

What stays on your device

Your database connections, credentials, queries, results, query history, templates and agent sessions are stored locally on your computer. Saved passwords are encrypted with your operating system's secure storage. Tarka connects directly from your computer to the databases you configure; that traffic does not pass through our servers.

Your account

Signing in is handled by WorkOS, using Google as the identity provider. When you sign in we receive basic profile information: your name, email address, profile picture and an account identifier. We use it only to sign you in and to show who is signed in inside the app.

What the app does not collect

• No analytics, usage tracking or telemetry in the app.
• No crash reports are sent automatically.
• No access to your database contents, queries or results.
• We do not sell or share your information for advertising.

AI agents

Tarka can let AI tools that you install and run, such as coding assistants, query your databases through a local connection. Whatever those tools receive is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Tarka's data-privacy settings let you limit what an agent can see.

Service providers

• WorkOS provides authentication.
• Google verifies your identity when you choose to sign in with Google.
• Vercel hosts this website and the app downloads, and may keep standard request logs. This website (not the app) uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights for aggregate page-view and performance data. The sign-in callback pages are excluded.

Your choices

You can sign out at any time, and you can delete everything Tarka stores locally by removing the app and its data folder. To delete your account, email tarkaclient@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
